Building Relations between

the Anglican Communion and the Roman Catholic Church

The Anglican Centre in Rome’s purpose is to promote Christian unity by developing friendly and informed relations between the Anglican Communion and the Roman Catholic Church.

The Centre

• provides a permanent diplomatic presence in Rome for the Anglican Communion

• is the base for the Archbishop of Canterbury's Representative to the Holy See

• provides a ministry of prayer and hospitality 

• offers educational opportunities, courses and a library

• gives advice on pilgrimages and visits to Rome

• contributes to conversations and builds friendship between Anglicans and Roman Catholics at every level 

• encourages and resources working and growing together in unity and mission.

  
  

The Anglican Centre was founded in 1966 with the encouragement of Archbishop Michael Ramsey and Pope Pius VI.
