Relations between Roman Catholics and Anglicans in England is in the broader context of deepening relations with all Christians, whatever their tradition. This reflects and values the rich variety of experience and expression among the Churches.

In 1990 the ecumenical bodies in England and across Britain and Ireland were reconstituted in a form that enabled full participation by the Roman Catholic Church and a number of Black Majority Churches which had not been part of the previous British Council of Churches.Churches Together in England |

From the 1980s in England, there had been emerging “Intermediate” or “County” Ecumenical Bodies, which facilitated city-wide or county-wide planning for mission and engagement with civil society, as well as the care of an increasing number of “local ecumenical partnerships” where different denominations entered into formal agreements.Examples are West Yorkshire Ecumenical Council, Birmingham Churches Together, Churches Together in Suffolk. |
