Easter: the power of divine healingPaschal Candle S Maria in Cosm

Archbishop Justin has chosen the Easter message about ecumenism to be a message of the power of divine  healing. We couldn’t hope for a better theology for our work here at the Anglican Centre in Rome. Healing can take time, healing can be demanding and require much grace and patience, healing requires skill: we are called to this ministry in the power of the sacred wholeness that came through in such a transforming way in resurrection.

The Good News, says Archbishop Justin, is that we are embraced by God in the risen Christ as friends in his kingdom; we are grafted into the stem, intimately joined with the Source of our being and raised to new life in Christ. I pray therefore that our Christian hope and the joy of the resurrection of Jesus Christ will heal relationships between individuals, communities and nations, banish fear, overcome suffering and broker peace, that the dawn may come.
